Our Organic and Natural Philosophy

Viny’aquí is a platform dedicated to organic and responsible wine tourism in Catalonia, highlighting estates committed to organic farming and/or natural winemaking.

Our Organic and Natural Philosophy

We believe sustainable wine tourism is possible: authentic, respectful, and committed. We spotlight small-scale estates where agroecology takes center stage. We work with winemakers who innovate and adapt to preserve their terroir in the face of climate challenges. With Viny’aquí, we’re building a new way to discover wine—one rooted in transparency, biodiversity, and a passion for living things. 🌍✨

Where are we headed?

At Viny’aquí, we simply want to offer a different way to experience wine tourism.

Our goals:

Give greater visibility to small estates in Catalan and Occitan wine tourism by connecting them directly with visitors.

Raise awareness among visitors about more sustainable winemaking practices and the realities of the profession.

Foster authentic encounters between winemakers and wine enthusiasts.

At Viny’aquí, we’ve made the choice to exclusively promote 100% organic or natural wine estates in the Pyrénées-Orientales. This approach reflects our commitment to environmentally friendly viticulture, the preservation of Catalan terroirs, and consumer health.

  • Environmental Respect: Organic viticulture protects biodiversity, soil health, and water resources in the Pyrénées-Orientales.
  • Authentic Terroir Expression: Free from chemical additives, the wines fully express the unique characteristics of Catalan terroirs.
  • Healthier for Winemakers & Consumers:The absence of pesticides and reduced sulfite use benefits everyone—both those who work the land and those who enjoy the wine.
  • Preserving Tradition: Organic viticulture reconnects with ancestral Catalan practices, long before the era of industrial chemicals.

Organic, Biodynamic, Raw Wine: What’s the Difference?

Viny’aquí’s partner estates embrace different yet complementary approaches:

Organic Agriculture

Verified by independent certification bodies.
Guarantees no synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers in vineyards.
Uses natural alternatives to protect vines and enrich soils.

Biodynamic

Treats the vineyard as a self-sustaining ecosystem, following lunar cycles and natural preparations.
Goes beyond organic with a holistic, regenerative philosophy.

Raw Wine

Minimal intervention in both vineyard and cellar.
Native yeasts, zero or low sulfites, and unfiltered winemaking.
Pure, raw expression of the grape and terroir.

Impact on the Catalan terroir

Organic and natural viticulture play a crucial role in preserving the landscapes and biodiversity of the Pyrénées Orientales :

  • Preserving endangered native grape varieties
  • Protecting pollinating insects and auxiliary fauna
  • Improving soil quality and carbon storage capacity
  • Adaptation to climate change particularly sensitive in the Mediterranean region
