Château Boucarut

The Château de Boucarut and its vineyards are located in Roquemaure, in the Gard, at the crossroads of several regions and cultural influences. Situated on the right bank of the Rhône, the estate lies at the heart of the southern Côtes du Rhône, a territory where winegrowing dates back to antiquity. Boucarut's soils are mainly composed, on the surface, of sandy hillsides resulting from the retreat of the Rhône, mixed with scree of rolled pebbles torn from the Alps and then polished by the river. The subsoil, for its part, is formed of successive layers of sediment deposited by the inland seas of the Secondary and Tertiary eras. The Tavel plot is located in the Vestides terroir, to the west of the village. It is characterized by lauzes soils, made up of limestone scree. The climate is Mediterranean, with little maritime influence, apart from the Mediterranean and Cévenol episodes in late summer. The mistral blows frequently and intensely here. Summers are hot and dry, marked by significant temperature swings, while winters can be cold.
