Set off for a wine tourism experience in the Pyrénées-Orientales, between the Mediterranean Sea, terraced vineyards and authentic Catalan villages. This wine hike takes you from Banyuls-sur-Mer towards Cosprons and Port-Vendres, in the heart of the emblematic landscapes of the Côte Vermeille.
Between coastal paths and vineyard trails, this wine hike offers a progressive discovery of the Roussillon terroir, with a focus on soft mobility and responsible tourism.
A hike punctuated by a tasting experience
Midday, a stop is planned at a wine estate to enjoy a tasting of local wines. This is a privileged moment to chat with the winemakers, discover their expertise and understand the specificities of Collioure and Banyuls wines.
This gourmet break complements the hiking experience by adding a unique cultural and sensory dimension, right in the heart of the vineyards. A catering option is available.
A wine hike accessible by train
One of the great assets of this route is its accessibility by train. Thanks to the TER line of the Côte Vermeille, it is easy to reach Banyuls-sur-Mer or Port-Vendres without a car, then do the hike as a loop or a short itinerary.
This accessibility by soft mobility allows you to experience a more environmentally friendly trip, while fully enjoying the landscapes without logistical constraints.
Terraced vines, sea and Catalan heritage
Throughout the route, the trails cross the famous terraced vineyards of Banyuls, carved into the hillsides for centuries. Dry stone walls, sea panoramas and Mediterranean scents punctuate this hike between nature and culture.
This wine hike highlights:
- the wines of Roussillon,
- the wine landscapes of the Côte Vermeille,
- Catalan agricultural heritage,
- and a sustainable approach to tourism.
An invitation to discover Banyuls-sur-Mer in a different way, combining hiking, meeting winemakers and tasting in the heart of the vineyards.

Fideuà de poisson (Fish Fideuà)
€18.00After the effort, the reward! Around midday, in the heart of your wine hike, enjoy a tasty break in the great outdoors. We offer a friendly lunch, specially designed to pair with the wines tasted during your walk. Settle in facing the vines, relax and enjoy an authentic meal showcasing local and seasonal products. An emblematic and convivial dish, fideuà is the Catalan cousin of paella! Rice is replaced by small golden pasta, slowly simmered and soaked in a savory fish broth. Our fideuà is garnished with tender pieces of fish, small sun-ripened vegetables, and accompanied by its essential homemade aioli to spice it all up. Vegetarian option available!

Recommendations
- Good walking shoes: This is crucial. The vineyards of the Côte Vermeille are planted on very steep schist terraces. The paths can be rocky and slippery. Leave your city sneakers at home.
- Plenty of water: Bring at least 1.5 liters of water per person. Walking, sun, and wine tasting quickly dehydrate you.
- Maximum sun protection: There is almost no shade in these vineyards. A wide-brimmed hat, good sunglasses, and sunscreen are mandatory.
- A light backpack: To keep your hands free for any steep sections, and to carry water and personal items.
Our approach
Another way to discover the Catalan vineyards
At Viny'aquí, we believe wine is also discovered on foot. Our oenorandos connect landscapes, terroirs and human encounters along accessible, authentic routes.
This experience in Northern Catalonia helps you understand how the winegrowers work a land shaped by wind, stone and sea — favouring soft mobility and support for local producers.
Your guide
Julien Cappiello
Passionate about the landscapes of Roussillon and the links between nature and [wine]growing, I accompany you on wine hikes designed as true immersive experiences, to disconnect and reconnect. Between hiking, local culture, and visits to wine estates, I design each itinerary to offer a balance between the pleasure of walking, discovering the terroir, and moments of sharing. My goal: to offer a simple, accessible, and authentic approach to wine tourism, where you take the time to understand the landscapes you traverse as much as the wines you taste.
