The Ansignan estate, located in the heart of the Fenouillèdes in Roussillon, is a vineyard committed to organic farming, certified since 2021. Since 2016, Jessica, Jeff and Sébastien have been restoring ancient vines over a century old on granite soils more than 300 million years old. The estate makes the most of this unique winegrowing heritage through manual work that respects the environment and natural balances. The plots are cultivated without chemical inputs, with the aim of preserving the living world and landscapes. The wines produced reflect the singularity of this high-altitude terroir, between minerality and fruit expression. The estate embodies authentic organic winegrowing, rooted in its territory and focused on passing on its heritage.

Roussillon wine country: an exceptional terroir

The Pyrénées-Orientales is one of France's most authentic wine regions. Roussillon offers a mosaic of unique terroirs: black schist from the Agly valley, granite from Les Aspres, limestone from Fenouillèdes and rolled pebbles from the plain. This geological diversity, combined with a Mediterranean climate tempered by the Tramontane wind, gives birth to wines of remarkable character.

Catalan winemakers cultivate iconic grape varieties — black, gray and white Grenache, Carignan, Mourvèdre, Syrah, Macabeu, Muscat à petits grains, Lledoner Pelut — often in organic or biodynamic farming. A winery visit in Roussillon is an opportunity to discover dry, fortified or natural wines in a preserved setting, at the heart of a millennia-old wine heritage.
