Natural wine tasting in Latour-de-France at Domaine des Mathouans: living terroir, living wines
Come live a unique wine tourism experience in Latour-de-France with Aline, a passionate winemaker at Domaine des Mathouans. Since 2009, she has cultivated her vines according to the principles of organic farming and biodynamics (certified Demeter), with special care to let the terroir express itself and produce natural wines of great purity.
The estate stretches over a magnificent schist terroir, ideal for expressing the full richness of Roussillon's native grape varieties. During this guided tour, Aline will show you her old vines of Lledoner Pelut, Muscat of Alexandria and many other treasures rooted in the Catalan garrigue.
After the walk through the heart of the vineyards, you will be welcomed into the cellar. There, you will dive into the unique world of natural wine, among wooden truncated cone vats, amphorae and barrels. Each container is carefully chosen to respect the identity of the grape and accompany fermentations without oenological additives.
The natural wine tasting in Latour-de-France is the highlight of the visit. You will taste several cuvées with surprising aromatic profiles, vinified without artifice, with great finesse. These wines fully express their geographical origin and the artisanal philosophy that drives them.
