Lirac

Lirac is an appellation that is still discreet but particularly interesting in the Rhône Valley vineyard, located on the right bank, facing Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Its wine-growing terroir is distinguished by great geological diversity and a typically Mediterranean climate identity, which give the wines a strong personality.

The Lirac vineyard is based on three main types of soil. First, there are terraces of rolled pebbles, similar to those of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, which accumulate heat and promote optimal ripening of the grapes. These soils produce powerful, concentrated and generous wines. In addition, there are sandy soils, bringing finesse and elegance, as well as clay-limestone areas located on plateaus and hillsides, which give the wines structure, freshness and aging potential. This mosaic of terroirs allows a beautiful complexity of expression.

The climate is marked by hot, dry summers, strong sunlight and the influence of the mistral, which cleanses the vines and limits disease. These conditions are ideal for quality viticulture, often committed today to organic or sustainable practices.

The grape varieties are dominated by Grenache, which expresses itself here with generosity and maturity, accompanied by Syrah, Mourvèdre and secondary grape varieties that refine the blends. Notable particularity, Lirac produces wines in all three colors: red, rosé and white, the latter being relatively rare in the southern Rhône Valley.

Long in the shadow of its prestigious neighbor, Lirac is now asserting itself as an appellation with strong potential, offering authentic, accessible wines deeply rooted in their terroir.
