A schist terroir sculpted by the sea and wind
The vines of Cosprons grow on poor, well-drained brown schist soils that the winegrower must work by hand because of the steep slopes. The tramontane and the sea breeze naturally regulate diseases and concentrate aromas in the berries. The Grenache Noir, Blanc and Gris, the king grape varieties of these hillsides, produce natural sweet wines of rare depth as well as dry, mineral reds under the Collioure appellation.
