A weekend in the Roussillon vineyard
Two days are enough to taste the essence of Roussillon: great reds and natural sweet wines, hilltop villages and vineyards facing the sea. Here is a weekend itinerary, from the Agly Valley to the Côte Vermeille, to build around the activities bookable on Viny'aquí.
Day 1 — Agly Valley
Head north of Perpignan. A visit and tasting in Tautavel or Estagel in the morning, a winemaker's lunch, then Maury and its natural sweet wines in the afternoon. Finish with a walk through the schist vineyards at sunset.
Day 2 — Côte Vermeille
Off to the sea. Discover the terraced vineyards of Collioure and Banyuls, taste with the Mediterranean in view, then wander the narrow streets of Collioure before heading home.

Vignobles en Scène, formerly the Fascinant Week-end
Every third weekend of October, the wine destinations labelled Vignobles & Découvertes hold Vignobles en Scène, the new name of the Fascinant Week-end. The Roussillon vineyard takes part for three days, with tastings, vineyard walks and food and wine workshops at the winegrowers'. Spring and autumn (harvest in September) are the best seasons, but the vineyard can be visited all year round. Book your accommodation early in high season. A car makes getting around easier; some stops are reachable by train (Perpignan, Collioure, Banyuls).
